Why are there no more DUO day tickets - previously CHF 54?

Warum gibt es keine DUO-Tageskarten mehr - früher 54.-- CHF

Migros is offering single day tickets for 44.-- valid until the end of Nov. 2012 until Sept. 10 as a contribution M generation change to public transport. First of all, thank you for such a promotion. Nevertheless, I would like to raise a few points of criticism, even if this actually relates more to SBB, which issues these tickets via Migros.

1) The offer has clearly deteriorated compared to 2 years ago: for a couple or otherwise 2 people (who likes to travel alone!) it now costs CHF 88 compared to CHF 54 before.

2) Admittedly, in the previous promotion, 1 person had to have 1 Half-Fare Card, but public transport advocates have this and the invited 2nd person or spouse does not have to have it.

3) It is even more expensive than the municipal day pass, which costs around CHF 40. In addition, these communal day passes (do not require a Half-Fare travelcard) have the great advantage that they are not only valid from 9 am. This later validity is very important for residents of peripheral regions who have to allow 2 hours or more for the journey to Zurich alone.

4) Even if you travel from the outermost part of eastern Switzerland to the Lake Geneva region and only take a one-way ticket for the day pass, I prefer to spend the 3 hours later departure time in Zurich or Bern in between... I have a car and could avoid this disadvantage by first driving 1 1/2 hours to the Glatt center, where I arrive before 9 a.m. and have a free parking space...but whether that would make sense is another matter.

5) Admittedly, the card is weather-independent compared to the municipal day pass, but it is still very limited in time with the end of Nov. 2012.
a) Working people have to plan ahead anyway and if the weather doesn't work out, both offers would be ruined
b) Pensioners have greater flexibility and if they are not necessarily traveling during the school vacations, the municipal day passes are still available at short notice. The handling on the Internet is also well organized.

6) Another alternative to the Half-Fare travelcard - which I also use for spontaneous journeys - is a 6-day travelcard for CHF 320 (old price). - Also valid before 9 am...
