PACKAGING IDEA for cherry tomatoes

VERPACKUNGSIDEE für cherrytomaten

Dear Migros,

I think it's great that you recycle plastic (bottles).
However, practically all types of plastic that are used to package food are
are not accepted/not recyclable because they have a different composition.

The prime example: cherry tomatoes. Even some tomatoes from the region, for the region, are packaged with an absurd amount of plastic. In my opinion, this is unnecessary; you could use cardboard, like BIO does.

Cardboard can be recycled easily and free of charge* for the consumer. In addition, there is no unnecessary waste of crude oil, as is the case with the production of plastic.

AND: Cardboard does not fill up our bin bags within a short time, as we do not have to put it in the bin bags that are subject to charges, but can dispose of it properly for recycling, which costs us nothing*. A plastic bowl like this takes up quite a lot of space in the bin liner (cutting or not).

WHY don't you pack all your tomatoes/vegetables in cardboard trays? Even if new resources are used for more cardboard, in this day and age it's still better than using plastic and therefore crude oil. The amount of cellophane that would have to be used would hardly be worth mentioning in contrast to the plastic trays.

I would like to know why and why not.
I would appreciate an answer.

Kind regards

magpie
