Can you tell me why even normal full cream contains the thickening agent E407? This substance is in so many products and is suspected of causing severe damage to the intestines. Why does cream have to contain thickeners? In general, I find it irritating what products now contain. Why does spelt cake batter have to contain wheat gluten? The same goes for various breads. It would be so nice if we could simply buy original products again without having to visit four different Demeter/organic stores and two different farmers.

Der Lebensmittel-Zusatzstoff E 407, auch als Carrageen in den Inhaltsstofflisten von Lebensmittel-Produkten geführt, wird als Gelier- und Verdickungsmittel eingesetzt. Derzeit ist noch nicht geklärt, ob Carrageen über den Darm von Säuglingen aufgenommen werden kann. Deshalb wird im Moment empfohlen, E 407 nicht für Säuglingsnahrung zuzulassen. Auch bei entsprechend veranlagten Erwachsenen kann Carrageen allergieähnliche Symptome auslösen.
