I keep noticing that Migros is very behind with the vegan labels on various products. products.
In the Coop, I can see the label immediately on many products and can therefore be sure that it is a completely vegan product.
In Migros there are very few products that have the label on them (although the products are vegan).

Migros has no fewer than 452 products with a label https://produkte.migros.ch/sortiment/supermarkt/lebensmittel?facets=label%7Ev-vegan%7Eveganblume
I wonder if Coop has more?

Many products say on the front: vegetarian
And only when you look at the back do you read: vegan
People are still afraid of vegan food, so it's better to be careful with the label, otherwise the products will no longer be sold to normal people.
Those who eat/live vegan turn over every product anyway...
Should the V label also be placed on sugar and sunflower oil?
Hello @soloporhoy
For some time now, Migros has been labeling its range of products suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet with the V-Label of the European Vegetarian Union (EVU). The V-Label guarantees that all ingredients as well as all additives (E-numbers) and processing aids used are vegetarian or vegan. The label enables the consumer to recognize suitable products at a glance.
The V-Label is awarded in two different categories:
- vegetarian (plant-based foods with dairy and/or egg-based ingredients)
- vegan (purely plant-based products)
It is also possible to search for vegan and vegetarian products on the Migros product portal https://produkte.migros.ch/sortiment/supermarkt by using the filter function for "Labels" and clicking on "V-vegan" or "V-vegetarian".
A V-label makes little sense on simple plant-based staple foods such as rice, oatmeal, etc. However, it is not necessarily obvious or known whether a product is vegan if it consists of various ingredients and has undergone processing. We therefore generally apply the V-label to products with a complex composition.
Kind regards
Tamara
