For a few weeks now, I've been missing my favorite bread when I go shopping, original spelt bread. It has a pleasant taste and stays fresh for a long time. Now I have found out at my Migros that it is no longer listed. Why is Migros taking such a good bread out of its range? What a shame!

This is/was my favorite bread, wonderfully aromatic and really long-lasting.
This is more than disappointing, as there is plenty of bread that tastes of absolutely nothing and only contains calories without any nutrients.
So I'll be making more trips to the bakery again.
After all, Migros has been consistently pursuing the principle of replacing the few remaining edible loaves with tasteless lumps of dough with lots of air for years. In the last few weeks, two, maybe even three of my favorite breads have disappeared - soon there will be nothing left. The 5-grain plait that has been a favorite for years has apparently had to make way for the spelt plait, which is not a spelt plait. The Kornfit bread, which I haven't found in any store for about two months, was also tasty and has a long shelf life. There were two versions of the original spelt bread, a red and a green one, whereby I like the latter better because it is less grainy but has more fiber. The red one(https://migipedia.migros.ch/en/111484300000) is no longer available in the Bern region, the green one (a CoR product) was still available last week, today it may just have been sold out - no wonder everyone who has similar preferences to me and will soon have no alternative is rushing to buy it. Today was the first time I left Migros without bread during a weekly shop. Fortunately, the competition wasn't far away.

Yes, unfortunately the demand for original spelt bread has been declining for some time, so it was decided to remove the item from the range. Unfortunately, adjustments to the range are unavoidable. We are aware of this and are very sorry to disappoint customers who would have liked to buy this product. Unfortunately, space on the shelves is limited and it is Migros' duty to constantly review the selection and its attractiveness and make adjustments if necessary.

Too bad, but that's the usual "the market decides" argument. Mine as a customer is: My new favorite bread is called organic wholemeal bread. But at another wholesaler. I can't yet say what sales this will shift to other wholesalers.

Quite right. Migros' system for bread is to throw out all breads that are healthy, compact and have a long shelf life. This is driving away an entire target group, namely those who want to eat cheaply and healthily, especially single households who don't want to run to the stores every day to buy bread, and the middle generation segment who still know and love hearty, crusty bread. In any case, the trend towards puffy, characterless breads that lose their texture after just a few hours and are difficult to eat the next day is clear. The entire Création line is useless for sandwiches, sandwiches and sandwiches because it is more air than bread. And all that stuff wrapped in plastic makes me lose my appetite, "happy" looks different...
Fortunately for me, I have a branch of "Ueli dr Beck" opposite Migros. I like to buy an "Urigs" with sourdough or a rye bread (rye from the Maggia Valley) there. This is how bread should taste
