There are now 2 stores in Zurich where you can buy unpackaged food.
Pasta, muesli etc. is filled into containers that you bring with you, which not only saves on packaging but also allows you to regulate the quantity individually.
2 birds with one stone: less plastic and less food waste. I find it very alarming that one person in Switzerland produces an average of 730 kg of municipal waste per year.....

I have now read through your links. But to be honest, I find some statements pretty weak, such as hygiene at the cheese counter. Of course the container you bring with you doesn't have to be behind the counter, but it could be placed on top to fill up etc
The fact that this topic has often been addressed for some time shows that many people are concerned with this issue.
In the Alnatura store in the Glattzentrum, you can fill your own muesli into the paper bags to create your own individual mix. Surely it should also be possible to do this in other containers?
Migros could also sell the containers and instead of these collection campaigns, which end up in the bin after a few days anyway, organize a competition for children who could submit the layout

There is a store here that also sells like this.... and it is mostly empty...so I wouldn't be sure if everyone would really use it...
I also see some people eating a handful of the open nuts when I go shopping. How would you reduce this kind of theft?

These are also available in Zurich. However, shopping there is extremely expensive. Unpackaged food costs more there than "normal" packaged organic products. Not everyone can afford this..... Well, not me...
The stealing you mentioned will probably be the least of your problems... Who eats raw pasta etc.? And if you do; the loss will certainly be much lower than with other items....
