I would find it even easier and cheaper to print the plan directly onto an A4 sheet. You don't need to buy a laminating machine for this.
Or you could simply put the sheet in a transparent cover and write on it, see just in action

? I don't have a pen to hand to test whether the ink sticks and can be wiped off cleanly. Pockets without a grained surface are probably more suitable.

I tried it briefly with our Staedtler Lumocolor non-permanent pen: It works great on the sleeves with a smooth surface (Migros product). It also works on the grained cover, but is not as legible. The problem with the transparent sleeves is that you have to be a bit more careful when washing them so that the water doesn't get on the sheet. I always hold the laminated paper directly under the water jet :-)
You can also have individual sheets laminated inexpensively in our stationery shop - so you don't actually have to buy a laminator.
Laminating machines don't cost that much.
And the films are available cheaply on the Internet, even stable ones.
You don't buy them all the time...
You could also put the printout in a film. Open it at the bottom, then tape it up completely at the bottom.
Works.
If it's not stable enough, put a plywood board underneath or cardboard....
I've just tried it out: the easiest way is to write directly into the plan on your PC: just click on the place where you want to write and enter Menu, Purchases... enter.
Then the paper problem is off the table once and for all, and you have the plan with you at all times if you have a cell phone. You can also share the files with your family via a cloud...
Yes, there are paper shops in Nidwalden that offer this (approx. CHF 2.00).
