Hello Turkey fans,

Since December there has been a range of Turkish branded products in various Migros branches. These are the following products:

"Tukas" (tomato paste)
"Göral" (sunflower seeds)

In our Migros, Turkish products are in the Asian section. When I went shopping on December 13, I also had to ask where these products were hidden. I was lucky, the contact person was able to help me.

The items also come in very large packaging. What private household would buy a tin of almost 300 "Marmarabirlik" olives weighing 1.3 kg? The same applies to "Tukas" tomato paste, which is sold in an 800 g tin. The "Kale" Dürüm come in a Gastro-Freshpack that contains around 20 patties and weighs 1.8 kg. The "Demet" black tea is available in 1 kilogram packaging. The rest is offered in the usual packaged sizes.

Apart from the "Demet" black tea (1 kilo for 2 people!), I had all the products at home. With the "Maidä" I created a Viennese curd cheese strudel and a Turkish yoghurt garlic strudel. The "Göral" pumpkin and sunflower seeds were used in a different way than intended. How and why? Daniel knows!

From a purely geographical point of view, the allocation to Asian products is correct (apart from the 3% that are in Europe). But I wouldn't go straight to the shelf with the Asian noodle soups if I were looking for Turkish food.

And about the size of the packaging - as an expert, I'm sure you know: is the packaging in Turkey that big as standard? Since Turkey has a very young population and therefore probably larger families, it certainly makes sense. But in our country, we could actually consider making the packaging a little smaller.
