I would like to know why almost none of the items in the non-food range have an indication of origin online. Is it a deliberate attempt to cover up the fact that most of the products come from the Far East? It would be nice if this could be found online, i.e. on Migipedia and on the respective store pages.

Migros will give you an answer that sounds nice, but yes, they just don't want to have Made in China everywhere because people then ask themselves why it's so expensive and put them off. Everywhere only Chinese goods at Swiss prices (nice example, I need a special plastic knob for the aquarium, specialist store 8.50 plus 7.- postage, on Aliexpress 30 centimes plus 90 centimes postage... is sick)

@Bodenseeknusperli Unfortunately, I know the answer myself. I was mainly interested in bringing up the subject again. I make sure that I avoid products from China whenever possible. Unfortunately, Migros doesn't make it easy for me to do my research. But as almost everything comes from China anyway, I hardly ever buy non-food items in Migros and Migros specialist stores.

The same applies to food articles: "made in Switzerland" does not mean that the components are from Switzerland! A corresponding declaration would be customer-friendly!

M-Budget cooking butter "made in Switzerland" comes from Ireland. Nothing against Ireland, but has the Swiss butter mountain already been reduced? And why does this have to be concealed on the website and in the online store?

Hello Yeeesha, thank you very much for your comment. Swiss butter was not available in sufficient quantities for some time. We therefore had to temporarily fall back on foreign butter. However, we can now slowly switch the butter back to Swiss origin. It is therefore currently possible to have both items in the stores. The online indication of origin is not about concealment - due to the different origins, we do not currently advertise anything. This must be checked directly on the product. Best regards, Chloe

The following rules apply to the declaration of origin: The information for wood is mandatory by law, as is the address of the manufacturer/producer for medical products and animal feed. At Migros, these are the main requirements: Indication of the country of production for all non-food own-brand items. For technical reasons, however, it has not yet been possible to implement this everywhere. However, the responsible specialist department is working on this.
