This has also happened to me, that I scanned the wrong barcode in the rush during self-checkout. I accepted this as my negligence, but I would think that with the packaging (where both barcodes are visible) and the receipt, you would have good arguments for a refund of the overpaid price ...

No, it wasn't that; the orange sticker said "Old price" and "Special price", and the two amounts are the same. In addition, the old barcode was pasted over, so I definitely scanned it correctly ... :-) It's not about the refund, but about the fact that the customer is being taken for a ride ...

That sometimes happens here in ZH in some stores too, I've seen/noticed it several times (either before I bought it on the shelf or then at the till because the amount wasn't right). I always look very closely at these orange "special price" labels. The fault lies with the staff who, under stress, probably operate the machine incorrectly/not correctly and then the machine spits out the wrong labels and they stick them on without looking at what came out; they sometimes don't even notice this or don't look at every label to see whether it is correct or not... If I want to buy such a reduced product and there is an incorrect orange label on it (reduced price corresponds to the regular price), then I always ask the staff in a friendly manner whether they can print the correct label again. They actually always do this, including a friendly apology/laugh ;-) It's definitely not intentional, but mistakes just happen (they shouldn't, but they do under stress). As a customer, you always have to take a close look, and not just at Migros...
