"subito":Comment
Hi dear MIGROS community!
MIGROs is becoming more and more modern ... "subito" is the latest thing at MIGROS Seedammcenter.
What do you think of it?
According to the brochure, the advantages are:
Checkout for small purchases, no queuing at the checkout, no registration required
That may be true, but what does that actually mean?
Jobs are saved (the customer does the work) ----
Is that the most important reason???????????????????????????????
Shopping is no longer fun because you just have to make sure that you scan correctly, don't forget anything and maybe don't end up being as fast because you are checked .
If this way of shopping and paying is extended, there will certainly be queues at the "SELF-CHECKOUT" (certainly at lunchtime, when employees and students need a few items quickly).
Wouldn't it have been much more sensible to set up a few "QUICK CHECKOUTS" (e.g. for purchases of up to 5 items) at the usual rush hours? No jobs would have been lost and this immense investment would not have been necessary ... I wonder if that would work?
Are the scanning devices and checkouts so robust? The staff (help for customers) at the "CHECKOUT_Kassen" are already under a lot of stress, and the customer (or at least me) is not exactly pleased with the way he is instructed when scanning and paying, because you feel like an auxiliary student ... even if you are normally good with computers, smartphones, etc. ...
What bothers me most is
that jobs are being rationalized away at the expense of women and men who urgently need this work and
that shopping is being turned into work! If I have to go shopping and spend my hard-earned money, it should at least be fun ....
Incidentally, there are definitely 2 camps:
The young ones who need to buy a few small things quickly (appreciate the self-scanning and paying) and
the older ones, who bring in the actual sales and don't see the point in going to such lengths and taking away jobs in the process!
Am I alone with this opinion, or what do others think ??????????????
Greetings Ingeborg
