Better yet would be to copy what Auchan and Carrefour do in France and Italy through a small scanner that each passes over the products. This way you can check your total spending in real time.
Implement it in the meantime in all MMM and MM stores (especially the one under my house, like the MM Fribourg-Ste Thèrese, beastly!).
