Had to find out last Saturday that since February 1, Migros no longer sells white bread from St. Gallen. You should take the white lumberjack bread instead. However, this has different dimensions and consistency. It is therefore not as airy as the St. Gallen white bread.
Is there an explanation for this decision? The sales clerks were a bit annoyed by all the questions, but were happy to help.

Thank you very much for your message. According to my inquiries, St. Gallen white bread is a regional product that was only available from the St. Gallen cooperative.
To ensure variety in the range, there are new products here and there that replace earlier products. Such decisions are always made with great care and in consideration of the development of demand, because we are of course particularly sorry when, as in your case, a favorite product is no longer available.
However, I am happy to pass on to the responsible department that you sorely miss the St. Gallen white bread. Unfortunately, I can't promise anything, but who knows - maybe it will find its way back onto the shelves one day?
