My girlfriend phoned SportXX in Brunaupark Zurich yesterday to find out about the rental prices for skis and ski boots for our 4-year-old child. SportXX does not hire out ski helmets. The woman on the phone advised my friend to use the bike helmet instead. That would also work very well. In response to my friend's concerns that the bike helmet was not actually designed to be used as a ski helmet and that the helmet protects the back of the head less than a ski helmet, for example, the woman replied that the ski helmet doesn't really protect the back of the head either. It makes no difference.

We have rarely received such incompetent advice. Please tell the SportXX Brunaupark store manager to ensure that his staff are better trained. A bike helmet never replaces a ski helmet! Such a statement should not be made. A good saleswoman would have made my girlfriend an offer to buy a ski helmet if we rented the skis and ski boots from SportXX.

We have now rented from the competition. The sales clerk there even gave us a free ski helmet as we were renting for the rest of the season.
