Asparagus and sustainability
Spargel und Nachhaltigkeit

In this forum, Migros responds to all sustainability concerns with advertising slogans (Genetation M, etc.) and, of course, the assertion that it is constantly striving for improvement.
In reality, however, little more is ever done than what is absolutely necessary in terms of PR in this country and today in order to generate profit.
Questions:
Does the responsibility lie solely with the consumer, so will you offer Mexican asparagus in February until it yields nothing?
How far would customers go to get asparagus in February if it were not available at Migros (and co.), i.e. not so easily accessible? Doesn't Migros have a lot of leverage when it comes to the basic consumer behavior of its customers? Could it even have a lasting influence on this?
When will profit no longer be more important than the concerns of our society/the earth?
