We fully understand your dissatisfaction and your wish to find only seasonal Swiss products on the shelves. However, Migros sees it as its duty to meet the needs and wishes of a very large number of customers. We are aware that some people find the import of fresh produce unnecessary, but it is important to many others. Our customers need to be able to decide for themselves which products they do and don't want to buy. So that they can make an informed decision, we provide all the necessary information. For example, the origin of each product is indicated on the label or on the shelf. In addition, goods shipped by air are systematically declared. Hi Tamara, how do you know that a very large number of customers want to import fresh produce? Also, you mentioned that airfreight is declared. I've never seen a logo on the packaging. To air freight: Sustainable transport and reduced emission values: these are the objectives of Migros freight transport. Migros air freight is organized in the most sustainable way possible, thanks to regulatory measures concerning emission values. The characteristics of certain goods make the use of air transport unavoidable. These transports and the CO2 emissions of the products are transparently declared. Migros does not simply regulate these emissions by purchasing climate protection certificates. In collaboration with the myclimate foundation, it has developed Insetting, a completely new offsetting concept: it enables emissions to be offset through its own sustainability services. An internal CO2 pricing system determines the emissions of products imported in Swiss francs, which Migros must offset through climate protection projects within its own value chain.
