Dear @karin253, please excuse the long wait. We have checked with Mibelle and received the following statement from them regarding your request:
Hawaii was the first state to ban certain UV filters in sunscreen products. The banned ingredients have not been used by Mibelle for years or have never been used. The Sun Look products are therefore "Hawaii compliant".
Sometimes products are labeled "biodegradable". Unfortunately, this test is time-consuming, which is why we cannot test all of our products, as the Sun Look range is large. However, we did test a Sun Look children's product that contains the sun protection filters we use most. The result was "readily biodegradable".
The sun creams suggested in the link are at least partially fat-based and do not contain water. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are mineral filters that leave a white film that takes some getting used to. Without these filters, the protective effect would not be given in this case. As most consumers prefer their skin to feel as light and non-greasy as possible, such a product does not yet exist.
My comment on the "biodegradable" label: Just because it is not explicitly stated does not mean that it is not biodegradable. The test that would allow such a label was simply not carried out for the product. Just in case that didn't come out right in the statement :)
