Dear readers

I really like the new Migipedia. It looks appealing and is easy to use. I work as a computer scientist and I have to say that the site works really well from a technical point of view.

What I miss, however, as a long-time forum owner of various platforms, is a signature function. It has actually become a standard that signatures can be set. For all those who have never heard of signatures; a signature is a (limited) text or image space that is written under the author's post.

I have already seen people who have made their own signatures, for example the Makros, who I would like to praise at this point. Istanbul has also made himself a kind of signature, but I believe that he inserts them manually using a macro. As I said, signatures have been the absolute standard of a forum for 3-5 years and I think Migipedia should also be allowed to benefit from this standard.

What is your opinion? I look forward to your answers.

Kind regards

Hello @deactivated user

Nothing manual!

"Lithium" can do much more! ?

Hello @Frederica

I've been looking for this for a relatively long time and unfortunately haven't found anything. Thank you for the little guide!

Since the function exists, I can only say thank you.

However, there is one point of criticism. I would put the signature, as described by Istanbul, more in the foreground. As a computer scientist and forum owner, I actually looked for it and didn't find it. In my opinion, such a central function should be placed more in the foreground.

Platz der Signatur

That's roughly how I would have imagined the space. Would also fit well in my opinion. I would probably move it in between avatars and settings, in this rotation.

What are your opinions on this? :)

Kind regards

I already showed the way to the signature last year, when the new Migipedia was launched. A user created one!

Your wish is not so simple: The platform from Lithium Technologies (UK), which has branches in France and Germany, is used worldwide. I doubt whether the structure can be easily adapted for the relatively small community!

Take some time to study how the platform works and what you could do if it were unlocked!

Good day

Thank you for the lively activity on your part. What I am providing here is a suggestion for improvement, not a requirement. I am aware that the forum software comes from Lithium and that it is sometimes not too easy to use in the backend.

I work with 2-3 different forum softwares every day, WBB (Woltlab Burning Board) is the most common one. The signature function (mind you, only the area for editing it) will be available in a kind of module. With almost all forum softwares, it is possible to move these in order to individualize the platform. I don't know if it works with Lithium, I don't know who is responsible for it. And that's something that doesn't have to be in my area of responsibility as a user.

I created this post to point out that as a newcomer to Migipedia I had difficulties with the signature and made a suggestion where you could easily find it. This is in no way an attack on you, dear @Fredericadar, nor on the Migipedia team. I kindly note that I, as a newbie here, could not immediately help myself in this regard. :)

Kind regards
