@isabel1964 I'm afraid you're deluding yourself. The food for "senior cats" is first and foremost a marketing ploy. The "food" that is produced for cats is unfortunately still the same diet, even with a "fine" sauce and in a nice aluminum bowl. There are no major differences, or only on the label.
If you want to sell cat food, you have to meet the "taste" of the cat owner ... whether the cat likes it and whether it's good for them is completely irrelevant.
