Dear Migros
Recently I was once again searching in vain for Swiss fish species in "my" Migros in Rümlang.
No perch, no whitefish, no zander... Lots of pangasius (because it's cheaper...?) and it was all frozen...
Wouldn't something be possible...?
(Can I see somewhere which store offers which fish?)

Thank you for your patience, I now know more about this.
Generally speaking, the Swiss fish range is regionally controlled and every cooperative has the option of stocking Swiss products. Of course, this range is always dependent on availability and can vary depending on the season. We stock both farmed and wild-caught fish. The farmed fish are mainly trout and perch, while the wild-caught fish are whitefish. We do not stock zander from Switzerland.
Due to the possible fluctuations, there is unfortunately no overview of exactly what is available where. What the product range managers were able to tell me:
Frozen fish: the frozen range is available in all stores, the breadth of the range depends on the size of the stores. However, there is hardly any frozen Swiss fish - we have been offering Swiss whitefish fillets in batter from Swiss lakes for the first time for a few weeks now, but only subject to availability (or while stocks last).
Fresh fish: Different product ranges are available in self-service in all stores, with Swiss products again subject to availability.
The same applies in principle to branches with staffed fish counters, but these also have the option of ordering Swiss fish. You can also ask the staff at the counter about the availability of Swiss products and order them if necessary. In your area, for example, you can do this in Regensdorf, Glattpark, Kloten, Bassersdorf, Zurich Airport, Oerlikon, Dietlikon, Glatt, Zurich-Affoltern and Seebach.

In this country, perch is regarded as a typical Swiss fish. It is correspondingly popular as an edible fish. However, the vast majority of fish sold comes from abroad. Migros now wants to change this:
