My friend recently brought me two pieces of Black Forest cake. One piece had the thin, wavy chocolate layer on top with a sprinkling of powdered sugar? The second piece had no chocolate layer, but a huge pile of powdered sugar ??!?? In my understanding and experience, powdered sugar has no place on a proper Black Forest gateau. And, we have bought this product several times before, and there were always two identical pieces in it. Without powdered sugar and with a wafer-thin chocolate layer. What went wrong?
