When I was a child, we always had a chocolate powder (it was more like chocolate crumbs) for in the milk, from Migros. It was sold in a large, round, transparent plastic tin with a red lid.
Who can remember what the "powder" was called?

Listening to your description of the consistency of the chocolate powder reminds me a bit of Banago - could that be? At least that was also a chocolate powder from the 70s and 80s. I can't say whether the packaging was transparent back then, though.

Tanja can't know that, she's far too young for that. Only a real Migros child from back then would know that.
Clear tin and red lid, that was Frey-Instant. The yellow cardboard tin with the red lid would have been Alima. Unfortunately, neither has been around for ages and no other product could keep up.

We discussed this item years ago. It was a very large, bulbous, transparent package with a large red lid. The contents looked like the Heliomat of the 1960s.
Didn't find out back then.

I just remember that I preferred to spoon the stuff straight from the tin. The lumps of chocolate powder were nice and crunchy, too good to stir into the milk :-)
They were available at least until the early 80s.
Banago was not sold by Migros back then, but only by Coop. I know this because we never had this drink at home (Coop was taboo). I only knew it from vacations on the farm, where Migros was taboo. Once the senior farmer sent me to the Coop by bike to get supplies. I couldn't have a snack without his Banago :-)
I think you mean the chocolate drink powder, which wasn't actually a powder, but similar to
Nescafe, i.e. freeze-dried granules. This was actually filled in large, round, transparent tins.
If I'm not mistaken, it was called M-Quik or Frey-Quik. We are of the opinion that Instant was not in the name. (Not everything was in English back then)
As a true Migros child, I always had this chocolate drink powder at home. I was still a child back then too.
In the meantime, the chocolate drink powder "Tchoko" is available in Migros, which comes very close to the product we were looking for, it is almost identical.
Oh, what I would give for a glass of Frei Instant! Unrivaled and sorely missed :-(
It was best drunk from the empty mustard jars from back then (with a tube)
