Why is it not possible to pay with cash after making a purchase with the scan? The answer I received in the store was that the system does not allow it. However, when I shopped at Coop Grüze or Manor, I saw that it is possible. Why not at Migro too?

The machines are set up for cashless shopping. They accept the same cards that can be used to pay at the checkout. The quickest way is with the Migros gift or payment card. This allows customers to shop more conveniently and quickly, as the goods can be put away immediately with Selfscan.
Paying with cash would delay the payment process and the system would no longer be worthy of the name SUBITO.
Customers who want to get rid of their "coins" can redeem them for a gift or payment card at the information desk.

Istanbul's answer is correct - at the moment the self-scanning stations are really set up for cashless shopping. However, we have already received several requests for payment with cash. In the next development phase, this request will certainly be looked at again. I have informed the relevant departments about your message and your request.
If you would like to pay with cash, I recommend a "normal" checkout.

So Istanbul, I think if you have to go to the information desk first, queue there until you have a payment card, it doesn't deserve the name SUBITO either. And then you have to read a bunch of questions.
I think cash payment should be standard at all checkouts in a supermarket.
I would be interested to see the Migros statistics on how much time a customer needs to pay in cash and how much time a customer needs to pay by card.
