Does this already exist? Single lever mixers that automatically return to "cold" after use. This could save energy because you usually need cold water. However, if the lever is set to "hot", hot water flows unnecessarily from the boiler into the pipe, which may not even be needed. It cools down uselessly in the pipe.

For single-lever mixers, the center position is the usual rest position. In the case of single-lever mixers with a "cold" center position, no hot water is requested in this position - with a noticeable savings effect in terms of energy consumption.
Without this little trick, the center position corresponds to a "lukewarm" water temperature. When in use, a proportion of hot water is therefore always requested, which is not needed for a quick wash of the hands, for example. The energy is then completely wasted in the pipes. This problem is simply avoided by not requesting hot water in the middle position.
The cold center position automatically saves energy, but "only" energy. Water consumption is not affected. The savings effect is achieved solely through the design of the cartridge inside the mixer tap.

In the bathroom we have washbasins with touch arm, with LED technology, automatically controlled.
- 1 x touch - cold water, color light ring: blue
- 2 x touch - hot water, color light ring: orange
- 3 x tap - hot water, color light ring: red
- 1 x tap for 5 seconds - cleaning mode, color of light ring: green

This LED technology is certainly good, but unnecessarily expensive. I would like your supplier to come up with a simpler system that is, above all, cheaper.
The single-lever mixers purchased by Migros at the time are purely mechanical. Hot water is added in the middle position. What I have in mind is a mechanism, e.g. a spring, that pushes the lever to "cold" after use so that no water from the boiler pipe is added the next time you draw water, unless you really want to. The boiler water stands still in the supply pipe and loses its heat. If you only need a little cold water, but the mixing lever is set to "medium", hot boiler water may only push the cooled contents in the pipe as far as the tap. As a result, the boiler always supplies useless hot water that was previously heated using electrical energy.
