Quiet now around price reductions

Ruhig geworden um Preisabschläge

Hello dear Migros,

In my opinion, it has somehow become very quiet about price reductions. It seems to me that the markdowns are communicated in a big way when the topic is very topical in the newspapers. As soon as the topic disappears from the front pages of the daily newspapers, hardly any prices are reduced.

Cosmetic prices in Switzerland are still outrageous. Even oral hygiene products such as Listerine are still almost twice as expensive. And why is there almost never a 50% promotion on Pampers, even though a very large proportion of your customers in nearby Germany buy Pampers?

Sometimes I hope that DM or Rossman will come to Switzerland and shake up the cosmetics market.

I'm also annoyed by the countless promotions for 2 or more items. Like last week's pan promotion. I have to buy 2 pans to benefit from the 50%. What about the people who only want one? This week the avocados are on sale from 2 pcs. but there are many small households who might only want one avocado and therefore have to pay the full price?
In general, I don't find these 2 or more pieces promotions very customer-friendly....

I also find some of the discounts at Migros very funny. There was once a children's chocolate promotion that was only 5 or 10% cheaper. However, in my weekly Edeka brochure, I saw the exact same promotion there at 34%.

I hope Migros makes progress in this area, because border shopping will continue to cost jobs in Switzerland....

PS. I would welcome it if Migros were to join a shopping alliance. Why doesn't Migros join forces with some chains such as Edeka, Tesco, Ahold and buy branded products for its customers at low cost... as these chains are under attack in their home markets, especially from Aldi and Lidl.

Kind regards

When you see what's going on here, I'm afraid I have to say that Migipedia is worth nothing, we're being taken for a ride by Migros.... and we are only served up lies here. When products are discontinued, the reason always given is that too few were sold, such as the light protein bread or now also the organic sourdough bread. Anyone who expresses criticism on Migipedia is blocked, see for example palm oil. I am aware that by Monday at the latest, I will no longer be allowed to express myself here (muzzling and grovelling).

@terrorzwerg1

Is that you, schneebaer47?

I find the name a bit short-sighted (see Stockholm etc.), but so be it ...

Again the question: If it's so bad here, why do you keep showing up?

Without wanting to appear arrogant: Migros is unlikely to react based on the opinion of a few consumers (and unfortunately that's all I can often see here), at least not when it's purely about wishes and not about violations of applicable laws or rules.

Migros is only a small fish compared to the big supermarket chains in Germany, so it can't negotiate the same conditions for the small Swiss market. I'm always surprised by the large quantities on offer so that I can get it cheaper. For small households you always have to think about it, you only need this quantity because it's cheaper, but that's the point of the promotions, otherwise the profit margin is too small because everyone wants to be cheaper than everyone else.

What's even worse is that you engage with her writing. Just ignore them consistently!

Unfortunately, nothing has changed. As soon as the media start talking about price reductions, Migros and coop communicate their price reductions very loudly. If little attention is paid to it, both hardly lower their prices or do so very moderately.

For example, the cosmetics range has hardly been reduced in price in recent weeks. I will therefore continue to buy my cosmetics from German retailers.
