Unfortunately the Roter Knirps isn't posted here (or I can't find it). Pumpkin time is my time! I love the orange pumpkin/hokkaido and use it to make everything you can do with potatoes. I always store it in the cellar for a long time. Unfortunately, it is not available all year round here in Migros (but it is in Germany). I would like to make a suggestion here regarding the price. Fr. 4.80 for an orange Knirps is already a lot. The sizes also vary quite a bit, sometimes there is a small one, then again rather larger ones. Please set the price by weight. That's how it used to be and I think it's fairer. Sure, you have to weigh the pumpkin first, but you have to weigh the other vegetables too. I hope you will reconsider the proposal and we will soon be able to pay for pumpkins by weight and not with a high unit price.

I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out, I guess I won't be buying any pumpkins from Migros this year. It's a shame, because the standard price means that (if not now, then later) the pumpkins have to have a standard weight, size and appearance (and (too) many pumpkins won't even go on sale).
That's the case with some things. For example, iceberg lettuce in one piece. Sometimes you can get a salad for 0.90 that will last a single person 5 days and sometimes you'll barely get enough. The same goes for kohlrabi. The average piece costs 1.45 but some are the size of a fist, others as big as two fists (at least you often don't have to cut off the leaves). It would be nice if they revised their strategy and weighed more themselves instead of financing a price increase :)

I think it varies from region to region, in our area the pumpkins usually still cost by weight. By the way, if you're looking for really tasty squash, the quality of Naturaplan is currently the best ;-P. In any case, I think price by weight is fairer, I would even be in favor of price by weight instead of piece for kohlrabi.
