What would it be like for Migros, as the first major supplier, to FINALLY get back to its roots when it comes to fresh milk?
There are studies that prove that raw milk is much better for our health than the highly heated types of milk.
I could imagine this fresh milk being offered at the counter, so that milk can be bought with a milk can, just like in the old days.
That would be a huge hit for Migros!!!!

Yes, I still remember how as a child I had to take the Chesseli to the dairy store to post milk. Mostly in winter.
If available, I would certainly buy such milk between meals.
But I'm not sure if today's food law still allows this. As raw milk is no longer even allowed in bakeries for baking. (Nonsense, really! )

Because of the food law? - I don't think so, because today we also buy hard cheeses such as Greuyére or Grand Padano, which are made with raw milk.
The difference to cheese is that the raw or fresh milk can be stored for a very short time, and the supplier only has to offer this in a limited daily supply. So the supplier does not make a loss. But I think the demand will continue to rise, as at least 2 generations will know what good properties raw milk really has!
And how... everything is enshrined in laws and ordinances.

I wasn't quite there yet, knew relatively well about its use in bakeries because of my profession, but not in other areas.

You're welcome. I still have two federal folders with documents, laws, ordinances and much more from my previous part-time job, which should be dusted off regularly. As a part-time job, I inspected spring, ground and treated lake water, no businesses, festivals etc., but had to attend a supplementary course every year at my own expense ;-)

The regulations are quite complex.
2 Raw milk is milk that has not been heated above 40 °C and has not undergone any further treatment with a similar effect.
3 Milk is considered ready for consumption if it has undergone treatment in accordance with Article 49 of the FDHA Hygiene Ordinance of November 23, 2005.
As long as those in Bern don't wake up and realize that heated milk does more harm than good to our bodies in the long term, many more people will continue to suffer from illnesses and possibly cardiovascular, stomach and intestinal problems.
I have just had it confirmed to me again today that raw milk is very healthy and ecologically very sensible!
If the milk has short delivery routes and the cold chain is guaranteed, it is and should not be a problem to sell the fresh milk within a day.
Unfortunately, the regulations of that time were drawn up by the economy, the people could NEVER participate in these regulations. We are patronized from behind and in front, but the economy sends its regards, it earns millions from the people... but at what price!!!!????

As a child, I also used to get my milk fresh from the cheese dairy in "Miuch-Pintli". And I would happily do it again in a heartbeat. The milk also tasted much better.

In principle, the idea of introducing raw milk is pretty cool. Unfortunately, however, it is hardly feasible. Legislation and logistical difficulties are one thing. Just as important for us is the fact that untreated milk starts to go bad after about a day and should no longer be sold. This means that if demand is lower one day, liters of milk would have to be emptied away - we want to prevent this kind of waste at all costs.
For this reason, there are currently no plans to introduce raw milk.

It is also very clear to me that raw milk has to be offered within a very short time. However, I think that if a major supplier starts doing this at some point, it could turn the dairy industry around. And for Migros, this could be a very lucrative business!
I think the demand would grow steadily because the properties of raw milk, as opposed to highly processed milk, will bring many health benefits for customers!!!!!
At some point you will all wake up.... I am convinced of this, whether in the economy or at a political level!!!!

To what extent does milk from organic and conventional production differ?
An international team of researchers led by Carlo Leifert from Newcastle University investigated this question. The Swiss Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) was also involved.
The study shows that organic food has a significantly better profile of important fatty acids.
