So many people need 3 plastic bags for 3 different types of vegetables! Extreme waste when you think about it. I only became aware of this through a nice sales clerk. We were talking about being environmentally conscious and food waste and tralala... when she then mentioned in passing how shitty she thought it was that most people used individual bags for each vegetable instead of filling several varieties into one bag and placing all the labels there. I looked at my shopping and noticed that I had one pepperoncini and one onion in a bag. Ouch, she's right.

So couldn't you hang a big, eye-catching poster in front of the vegetable section or above the plastic indicating that you can use one bag for everything? Maybe that would be a step in the right direction?

Best regards Sam

I always use reusable cloth bags - I pack each vegetable individually and can then store them in the fridge - this saves time and hassle and keeps the fridge tidy - if the bags get dirty, just pop them in the washing machine.

I often give the bags an individual look - doodle a little with a perma-marker and you can really enjoy them :)

Hello@samtheking

We have also noticed that more and more customers are concerned about plastic bags for vegetables and want reusable bags. The Migros Cooperative Zurich has therefore introduced so-called veggie bags:https://www.migros.ch/de/genossenschaften/migros-zuerich/aktuell/news/veggie-bags.html

We are currently observing whether the system is proving successful. It will only become clear in a few months' time whether the reusable bags are actually used more than once and adopted by customers.
