Yes, I buy discounted items because a) I don't have a lot of money and b) the items are usually in perfect condition. I'm also one of those people who takes the receipt with me and takes another look at it when I get home. Unfortunately, I notice that it happens again and again that an item with 1/2 price (or simply reduced) is still on the slip at the normal price. I try to place the items on the conveyor belt in such a way that the cashier can see the receipt and react accordingly. However, this doesn't always work.
I understand that the cashier is under pressure and can make a mistake, but it's also very unpleasant when you stand there with the receipt before packing and then have to check whether the discount has been granted. Conclusion: you end up paying the full price and are annoyed.
I wonder if there is no other way? With self-scanning it also works with a new code? I often shop in small stores where this is not yet available and I have to go to the checkout. Is there really no better solution for Migros?

Only one code should be visible (or scannable) at a time.... This is usually the case!

Sometimes it is handled in such a way that an orange sticker with a new code is stuck on it, but unfortunately not always. Sometimes only the red round stickers with 1/2 or so are stuck on somewhere.
It would be an improvement for the cashiers and for the consumers if this worked consistently.

You're absolutely right about the standardized system. But at the moment, presumably only those stores that use self-scanning/subito have the option of creating orange stickers with a customized barcode.

Exactly @AlMiDeCoLi. I have also briefly clarified this again and the process is basically handled as follows.
Stores with Subito:
The reduced items are labeled with new orange labels, which have a new EAN. The original EAN is pasted over with these labels and it should not happen that the item is sold at the original price. However, as the articles tend to have more and more EANs printed on them (on all sides), it can unfortunately always happen that an EAN is forgotten when it is pasted over.
Stores without Subito:
Stores without Subito mark reduced goods with either a ½ price sticker or a "Reduced price" sticker. The EAN is not pasted over as the person at the checkout needs it. Checkout staff are trained in a checkout course to always pay attention to such article markings and to record the reduction accordingly. This usually works very well. Unfortunately, however, as is the case everywhere, errors cannot be completely ruled out.

Unfortunately, I don't quite agree. There are also branches without Subito that have the orange stickers (I thought Tägerwilen was one of them). I think it should be possible to stick a new code on all reduced items? I don't want to put the cashiers down, it would certainly happen to me that I overlook 1-2 price stickers. So it would really be a relief for everyone! It wouldn't reduce the error rate, it would eliminate it. Because in my opinion, too many mistakes happen...
