I miss organic stevia leaves on the shelves at Migros. Would it be possible to offer them as a declared bath additive, for example?
Hello Dalina, thank you for your contribution. Unfortunately, we don't quite understand the connection. Stevia is used more in the bakery/sweetening sector and not necessarily in the bathroom. Or can you briefly enlighten us? Thank you and best regards, Milena
As far as I know, dried stevia leaves are not yet approved as a foodstuff in either Switzerland or the EU, which I find a great pity and can hardly understand, as I see this as a spice that should be used in very small quantities (especially in tea).
With foreign suppliers, who unfortunately cannot deliver to Switzerland or have a minimum order value that is too high, I have already noticed different designations in order to adapt to the unfortunate legal situation. The leaves are most frequently declared as a bath additive or recommended for use in dental and skin cosmetics, often with the additional note that the leaves are not yet approved in Switzerland and the EU.
Would it therefore be possible to include whole or ground organic Stevia leaves in the Migros range?

Thank you for your comments, as the health safety of the stevia plant has not been fully proven, stevia leaves may not be marketed as food or for sweetening food in Switzerland and the EU. Our Personal Care department is not currently planning to include stevia leaves in our range as a bath additive. Furthermore, it is not in our interest to sell products as bath additives with the ulterior motive that consumers will subsequently use them as tea. We hope to be able to answer your question.
