Plastic waste and unnecessary packaging

Plastikmüll und unnötige Verpackung

The other day I bought some meat at the meat counter in Migros Frauenfeld (Passage). Lamb loin. I would probably have got the same in the self-service area. But I'm one of those "crazy" people who actually want to avoid plastic waste and unnecessary packaging. So I go to the meat counter with the intention of buying unpackaged meat.
Think again! But not at Migros, which always advertises that it wants to do something for the environment. At the meat counter, there are no pieces of lamb without the pointless plastic packaging. Small pieces, each individually sealed in plastic. When I ask why the meat is wrapped in plastic in the open meat department, the answer is: "The boss wants it that way." Excuse me, but who's crazy, the boss of the department or the boss called Migros?
I think it's absolutely stupid to seal meat individually in foil when it's sold open. Not to mention the fact that I get this foil added to the purchase price.
Incidentally, it's not the first time I've encountered this at Migros. And I'm beginning to wonder whether Migros is serious about its environmental protection claims or whether this is just mindless drivel.IMG_20190111_132638.jpg
