Dear Migros
Surely you are normally interested in taking on a pioneering role? All the more so since you are constantly advertising recycling.
So why can I recycle my plastic and Tetra waste at Aldi all over Switzerland and not at Migros?
Is the income too low? It would be an investment in the future!
Migros does not (yet) accept drinks cartons, but it does accept plastic bottles. As far as I know, it was even the first to collect other plastic bottles as well as PET bottles for recycling.

Wouldn't this also be possible at Migros?
Apparently these can be disposed of separately (i.e. ONLY these drinks cartons), or together with the plastic bottles.
This would be a sensible and very environmentally friendly idea..... take a look at this page, where there is also a Swiss collection map showing where such collection points already exist.
Dear Migros, (sorry to write this here, but Aldi, for example, is there, but I hardly ever go shopping there) so it would be great if Migros were to implement this too?

The fact is that Migros is trying to find a holistic solution - also with other retailers, for example. Many interest groups are involved - so it's not easy to find a solution that works for everyone and makes sense. So it will probably still take some time.

I would like to see a general reduction in plastic trays. Organic vegetables in particular are very often packaged in plastic and unnecessary plastic trays. Why isn't it possible to sell them open or in cardboard trays instead? Veggie bags are a great idea, but they are of no use if everything is already packaged anyway...

There was once a pilot project in our store where you could dispose of these plastic trays and tubs from the meat products.
Unfortunately!!! there was a lot of OTHER waste in there and you would have had to separate it again (by hand, or something?).
I think it's terrible that (some/many!) people can't manage to dispose of ONLY the waste that belongs there. That's why this (pilot) project was unfortunately not discontinued or implemented.
But perhaps Migros has found a solution in the meantime, just as it is apparently possible to separate beverage cartons and plastic bottles for recycling. (Sensors are used to separate the plastic bottles from the drinks cartons).
So I agree with you exactly and think your idea is great!
You, I and others would also use the disposal of these plastic trays and tubs CORRECTLY and I hope that the "rest" will also manage it, because it is precisely because of them that a good idea (recycling) is not implemented, depending on the "case". What a shame.......?

In our Migros, the containers used to be open at the back entrance (near the parking lots) - now everything has been moved to the supervised ramp. There are also the obligatory holes with the familiar sorting, where you can only throw in individual items.
I noticed that the open container was also used by many "large customers" who came with filled reusable plastic bags and emptied them pre-sorted.
3 things were typical with this manageable pile of plastic:
-- not everyone could tell the difference between PET and plastic (PE)
-- the plastic also included prohibited items such as the aforementioned meat packaging bases, yoghurt pots, cookie trays etc.
--But the prohibited items were all clean, there was never any odor and in summer there were no flies or other insects. The containers were never left open overnight.
So a clean cleaning is a matter of course... and then I see no difference between oil, sauces and plant fertilizer (permitted) and 1kg yoghurt containers, meat packaging bases, cookie plastic trays (prohibited) .... I don't understand it, especially with the latter 2, because it "needs" this ONLY because of the presentation - a typical presentation packaging for the benefit of the seller....
