Thank you for your answers and best regards

@zuluhamboi 1. a problem of distinguishing where organic and conventional is sold (legal requirement) 2. the producer is visible on the packaging, because of cheating, confusion) 3. longer shelf life for a reduction in food waste (this is done with higher value items) 4. if both are offered, and a distinction must be made by law, the packaging is made with the more expensive item, which is sold in smaller quantities. 5. you could also label each organic item to differentiate between them - but this is also made of plastic. 6. if you don't want all this, you have to buy directly from the organic producer (farm, market), because they ONLY have organic .... ;-)
Hellozuluhamboi, thank you very much for your question. Marcoti has summed it up wonderfully. That's exactly how it is. Organic goods and commercial goods must be distinguishable from each other at all times, that's the law. Therefore, one of the two must be clearly labeled and since organic is less in terms of quantity, we also need less packaging material here. Kind regards, Madlen

Will laser technology help with this problem in the future and thus reduce the use of plastic packaging material for organic fruit and vegetables...? ? An interesting thought, after all - these tattoos on fruit... . http://www.20min.ch/finance/news/story/Fruechte-Tattoo-23548311
Hello marcoti, thank you for your contribution. We have already checked these variants. At the moment, this process can only be used for a few items. In the case of products such as oranges, for example, where the peel continues to grow after the harvest, the lasered mark disappears after a few days. Another problem lies in the technology, as not enough letters/numbers can currently be lasered to meet the legal requirements. Nevertheless, we are still working on this method. Whether and when it will be used at Migros remains to be seen. Kind regards, Luisa
