Plant-based drinks made from Swiss grain

Pflanzendrinks aus Schweizer Getreide

Perhaps the following question has already been asked several times and answered in detail; in this case, please excuse me.

Is it not possible to produce plant-based drinks from Swiss cereals and offer them in Migros - alongside or instead of coconut and quinoa drinks?

Hello Bodenseeknusperli

Thank you for your reply, the link and the reference to oat milk.

The financial aspect is certainly key. This is also the reason for the original question - whether ELSA, for example, could take over the production of plant drinks from Swiss cereals* and offer corresponding products in Migros.
*Well understood as an extension of the product range

Hello @maripac and @Bodenseeknusperli if something like this was added to the range @maripac then something else would fly off the shelf. There are no extensions, only an exchange.

Hello Mystery1978

You're probably right about plant-based drinks made from Swiss grains instead of quinoa, almond, coconut and cashew drinks - I'd be even happier if I wasn't one of the few.

Kind regards

Maripac

@maripac If it's a vegan product, you have a good chance that it might be added to the range. But then strawberry or mocha could be taken out. As far as I've read, Migros is going with the trend on the market, which is currently vegan. But what do I know, the fact that mocha and strawberry have been replaced by rice and something else (I can't remember which brand) is a fact and really happened. Then they point out alternatives that are nowhere near as good, or more expensive. That is normal. And in that sense:

"Doing right by everyone is an art that nobody can do"

Hello everyone, thank you very much for your contributions. Unfortunately, the quantity on offer is currently still too small and too expensive to be included in our national range. We ask for your understanding. The relevant specialist department has been informed of your request and is keeping an eye on the situation. Kind regards, Luisa

What kind of Swiss plant-based drinks do you have in mind?

On which raw materials? Then you can get rice drinks (from Ticino) for 6 francs instead of 3.20 for 1 liter.
I don't think anyone will go for it then...

@EEnergy: Spelt or oat drink, for example. As Bodenseeknusperli writes, various agricultural raw materials could be considered.

I had hoped that Migros itself would develop and offer plant-based drinks made from Swiss grain or local agricultural raw materials as part of Generation M, especially as the demand for plant-based alternatives to dairy products is likely to not only remain stable, but increase significantly.

Of course, not every vegan can and wants to spend 5Fr per milk to live a plant-based lifestyle.

Most of them are young people (20-40 years old).

I hardly believe that the Swiss rice market has enough rice to produce rice drinks.
The same applies to quinoa.

I like to drink plant-based drinks myself, but price and taste are also important factors in my decision...

Spelt and oats are probably more likely to be considered, I agree!
