Hopefully the PET will be recycled. The rest of the plastics that the M sells us for packaging should (have to) be taken back free of charge, then we would automatically carry less non-recyclable packaging waste home with us. But no, they prefer to sell us platic recycling bags from which they earn something again. The fact that the whole thing is then advertised as a contribution to environmental protection is simply greenwashing for profit.

Bullshit... it's simply unprofitable in some cases... even the recycling companies charge money for plastic... And nobody forces you to buy from the stores that they have to take it back(!)
Hello everyone We strive to offer our customers the most comprehensive take-back system possible. This reduces the amount of waste and helps to close material cycles, thereby conserving resources and protecting the environment. Our stores already have a take-back system that goes far beyond the legal requirements. The PET beverage bottles collected (around 8,700 tons of PET bottles in 2020) can be used to produce new packaging: Since April 2019, for example, all Migros syrup bottles have been made from 100% recycled PET. Since autumn 2020, Aproz mineral water bottles have also been made from 100% recycled PET. In Switzerland, a very high-quality cycle is practised when recycling PET beverage bottles: Used PET drinks bottles are turned into new containers (bottle-to-bottle concept, see www.petrecycling.ch). Migros' PET drinks packaging contains a high proportion of recycled PET. Since April 2019, for example, all Migros syrup bottles have been made from 100% recycled PET. Since autumn 2020, Aproz mineral water bottles have also been made from 100% recycled PET. This direct use of the material has a very positive impact on the eco-balance and value creation in Switzerland. Here you can find more examples of ecologically optimized packaging: https://corporate.migros.ch/de/nachhaltigkeit/plastik-verpackungen/unsere-fortschritte/umweltfreundliche-verpackungen.html Other plastic packaging and larger plastic bottles can alternatively be placed in the Migros plastic collection bag, if offered in your area (https://filialen.migros.ch/de/filter:market_services-market-service-mig_plstc/center:46.8182,8.2275/zoom:8/).
