This weekend while shopping, we needed 2 caddies as I had 1 token and no change on me. I took the liberty of asking customer service for a token, and the lady replied that there weren't any.
This means that if I'm an elderly person and I have to do my shopping, and I don't have any change, I cancel my shopping because the store doesn't have tokens for the shopping carts.
If I were you, I would have asked customer service to give me change for a ticket so that I could have a coin (or coins) for the shopping cart(s).

Indeed, it would have been good to offer you to make change so that you have a coin for the caddie. Sorry for the inconvenience...! Could you please tell us which branch you were in? That way, we can pass on your comment to the people in charge.

It was at the Migros in Monthey. The Coop gives tokens if you don't have change.

They told me that, unfortunately, they don't have any tokens available for this kind of request, but that, on the other hand, they are happy to change coins and banknotes. As I said before, they should have offered you this service last time, but don't hesitate to ask for it if the situation arises again.
