There is often discussion about whether palm oil in our food is sustainable or not. Unfortunately, it is often forgotten that palm oil also contains ingredients that are harmful to health.
The EFSA is a European authority that is funded by the European Union and works independently of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the EU Member States.
What the EFSA says about this sounds very worrying:
"Glycerol-based process contaminants present in palm oil, as well as other vegetable oils, margarines and some processed foods, raise potential health concerns for consumers in younger age groups. (Infants up to and including adolescents up to 18 years of age)."

I hope that palm oil can at least be increasingly avoided in organic products in the future. Unfortunately, there are still many organic products, for example Migros Bio-Guetsli, which contain palm oil.
