Our son has a severe (even trace) nut allergy. We miss products for such allergy sufferers! There are now many products for others (gluten/lactose), but nut-free products are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
Examples: Until a while ago, some Farmer bars were nut-free (our little one loved them!), bread is only available with traces of nuts at Migros, in general there are NO(!!!) aha! products for nut allergy sufferers.
Is this market so small that it is being ignored?

Hi Nicole, it's not really complicated, we "just" have to avoid any traces of nuts.
But it's true that some things are involved: reading the small print of every product every time we go shopping, eating out (children's birthday parties...) is awkward, and my son never goes anywhere without his tablets/adrenaline injection.
You just follow it and live with it. Nevertheless, it would be great to have a bit more product choice (especially his beloved Farmer sticks are extremely lacking)

Hi Nicole, we always had a whole box full of them, the junior bars (various types), some soft bars and his absolute favorite, the ones with honey and cornflakes. Certainly none with chocolate, as these always have traces of nuts in them.
As we haven't bought any for more than half a year, I can't tell you the exact names.
If there were farmers for him again, his beaming face would be a great advertisement for Migros (and their promise to offer more for allergy sufferers....).

I know the problem. Have you ever tried tigernuts? They taste like nuts, but they're not. Allergy sufferers like to use them as a nut substitute.

Thank you for your reference to tigernuts. I've heard of them too, but we're not looking for a substitute for nuts, but for nut-free products (bars, biscuits, bread etc.).
Perhaps the industry could switch to tigernuts for some of these products if they really want nut flavor in them?
Our little one gets along quite well without chocolate and nut biscuits, but a farmer's stick now and then as a snack would make him happy.

"Farmer stalks are produced in a factory where various types of nuts are also processed. It can therefore not be ruled out that nut-free Farmer sticks contain traces of nuts in the recipe. A corresponding allergy warning (may contain nuts) is printed on the product, but nothing has changed in the recipes. Unfortunately, Migros does not currently have any aha! products in its range that are labeled "without nuts". In order to exclude traces of nuts in a product, not only the factory must be guaranteed nut-free, but also all the raw materials that enter the factory. Ensuring this is very time-consuming and the search for suitable manufacturers is correspondingly difficult. However, we are keeping at it and hope to be able to offer nut-free products in the medium term."
The contents of the farmer stalks should therefore not have changed. Perhaps you can check them again the next time you go shopping, but I'm sorry I can't give you any other answer. I hope you find a native replacement product for your son soon!

We might try his favorite farmer again, but only under supervision, the risk of ending up in hospital is there...
A single, smaller, less tasty, totally overpriced replacement bar is available from the big competitor.
We'll keep looking and would be happy if aha! (or SAS) would do a bit more for nut allergy sufferers.
