So today comes the news that Migros, together with Migros Bank, is launching a new online banking offer: "M+". But lo and behold: the new offer is not for ALL Migros customers after all: Anyone who already has an account with Migros Bank (like me) is not allowed to have "M+" - it's only for new customers. Hofladen Migros is therefore a scam. "M+" would have made me consider Migros more often again - I've hardly shopped there for about seven years. But please: if you don't want to, it's your own fault.

Thanks for the article. It doesn't really say anything new, especially not that the offer only applies to new Migros Bank customers. I'm not surprised that it reminds you of "Coop Finance+"; I also thought of it when I read the Migros offer. Actually, the only new thing at Migros is that you can also collect Cumulus points with your debit card.

As an existing Migros Bank customer, you have access to all the services that are also included in the M+ bank account: a free private and savings account, a debit and credit card with no annual fee and the option to withdraw cash free of charge in Migros branches and at Migros Bank ATMs. The M+ package is simply a new combination of these services offered via Migros channels. It is aimed at Migros customers who are not yet Migros Bank customers. No additional Cumulus points can be collected with the debit card. The Cumulus barcode on the back is merely intended to make it easier to use. With the Cumulus credit card, however, additional points can be collected as before. Or would you have to go to a Migros Bank counter? Or would deposits only be possible via digital channels? You can deposit money at Migros Bank ATMs - just like at other banks. At least banknotes. I don't know whether Migros Bank also has machines that accept coins. You can't deposit money into your Migros Bank account at the Migros checkouts. It's noticeable that people always talk about withdrawals; depositing money doesn't seem to be relevant at all. Yes, of course, most of the money comes into your account by bank transfer, which has been the case for decades. Nevertheless, there may be situations where you want to deposit cash. Be it because you have received it as a gift or because you have earned it in a survey or consumer test. Just to give you an example; as Federwolke writes, there are also other options. And although cashless payments are the main form of payment these days, how to withdraw cash is still a big issue - the latest option is the supermarket checkout. But that's just it: Always just withdrawals, although this need is disappearing more and more. But why is depositing never offered, let alone even mentioned? Apparently the banks are hoping for abracadabra.
