Hello Michi2000, in order to reduce spoilage in the Cornatur Quorn value chain, the products are being pasteurized, which extends the shelf life of the products. Unfortunately, the existing packaging was not suitable for this step, so we had to switch to the slightly thicker trays.
Packaging only makes a very small contribution to the environmental impact of a product - usually less than four percent. The main environmental impact comes from growing the food. Packaging therefore prevents the worst-case scenario for the environment, namely the premature spoilage of food. Kind regards, Sina
