I agree, people also tend to forget that there is a lot of "often well hidden" poverty in the oh so "rich Switzerland", today I asked Pro Infirmis and the Red Cross for the "Tischlein deck Dich" card, no more new ones will be distributed before October 21 as there are already a lot in circulation for the Chur and Landquart region, so it is impossible to do justice to everyone who needs it. The at-risk-of-poverty threshold is set by the European Union at 60% of the median equivalized disposable income. Being at risk of poverty therefore means having a significantly lower income than the population as a whole and thus being exposed to the risk of social exclusion.
