Candida comes from the Latin "candidus" for "shiny white, snow-white, shimmering white", but also "sincere, clear, cheerful". Candida therefore means something like "the snow-white", but also "the sincere, the cheerful". It is one of Migros' strongest brands and has been on offer for over 75 years.
