Dear Migros Milk is a product that is consumed every day. Millions of very good quality plastic bottles are thrown away every day. That really bothers me. So my suggestion is to set up milk vending machines. Many farms already have them and they are proving their worth. But the plastic milk bottle is thrown into the recycling bin for plastic bottles at Migros and is thus reused. No bottle is thrown away. Or is there no recycling/return facility at a regular branch?

Milk is primarily sold in beverage cartons. All the programs I know of to collect and recycle such cartons have unfortunately been discontinued at some point in the past. The processing is probably still too expensive, as cardboard, plastic and aluminum have to be separated from each other. I know of a milk vending machine at a Landi branch that I have seen being used a lot. Migros has recently installed vending machines for dry food and cleaning products in various locations. Who knows whether milk vending machines will also be an issue in the near future.

It is correct that there is a collection point for this. Nevertheless, I think it would make more sense to use reusable containers for items that are used so frequently
