It's exemplary that you also take back used plastic bottles. I really appreciate this commitment. But what surprises me - and we have not only seen this once - is that the checkout staff simply throw the old gift cards and cash cards in the bin when they are empty.
As far as I know, these cards can also be recycled. And Migros also did this with the big Cumulus card exchange campaign. Why don't they do the same with the many gift cards? That would certainly result in a few kilograms of plastic waste.
So there's certainly room for improvement.
