Alleviating hardship with Cumulus is not so easy

Mit Cumulus Not lindern ist nicht so einfach

A few weeks ago I saw the following article in the Bund:

I think it's a great pity that Migros couldn't show its greatness and stop the young student's social project (especially after Migros Ostschweiz had previously given the OK!). I know many people who would not want to register for the Cumulus card and collect money for this project. It is also grotesque that Migros has been profiting from emergency aid recipients for a long time, because instead of money they usually receive Migros vouchers, which are certainly paid for by the federal government.

Cumulus is a bonus program designed to help Migros, not its customers. If there is no benefit for Migros because the data collection is watered down, the friendliness is over. It's as simple as that. Migros' behavior in this case shows this very clearly.

According to an article in the Berner Zeitung of Saturday, June 21, 2012, page 9, "Cumulus card for the good", the conflict has been resolved.

Migros has given in. There will only be one barcode so that all points end up in the same account.
