A Migros customer has noticed new dosage information for "Total Sensitive" detergent. Suddenly the detergent is supposed to be dosed much higher. The refill bag states that 130 milliliters should be used for heavily soiled laundry with soft water, instead of 80 milliliters as before.
The customer is surprised: "It's the same product - I wonder if Migros wants to sell more."
"We apologize"
Has Migros increased the dosage to boost sales of the detergent? It's not quite that dramatic after all: "We have discovered that we have indeed made a printing error - we apologize for this," Migros said on request.
The error was pointed out by a consumer at the end of November. "The change to the print data on the 'Total Sensitive' refill bag has already been initiated and implemented as part of post-production."
Deliberately no recall
Migros added that it had decided not to withdraw the remaining quantity of sachets with incorrect dosage information from the market and destroy them. "This would not have been appropriate or proportionate from an ecological or economic point of view".
Only the refill sachets of "Total Sensitive" detergent are affected by the printing error. Migros cannot say exactly when the correctly printed bags will be available in stores, as this can vary from store to store. It is expected that only correctly printed bags will be available by the end of February.
