Migros refuses warranty service and return of Delizio coffee machines

Our Delizio Brava Glossy Red coffee machine, which is just under a year old, had a red warning light flashing and the coffee was only dripping out, with most of the coffee water ending up in the capsule collection container. Following the operating instructions, we attempted to descale the machine, which we normally do on a monthly basis. 

Today, January 19, 2026, at 2:10 p.m., we attempted to return the Delizio coffee machine for repair under warranty at the Migros branch in Lyss, handing it over to Migros employee S. at reception. Although we were able to present a dated Delizio warranty certificate, which explicitly states that the machine can be returned to Migros stores, the return was refused. Our request to speak to the customer service manager was also rejected. 

We have been Delizio customers for 20 years. As a former member of the Migros Aare cooperative council, I am very disappointed. On the one hand, by the refusal and, on the other hand, by the arrogance, unfriendliness, ignorance, and incompetence of Migros employee S. What are the reasons for this: a lack of language skills, ignorance of processes and organization, or was the time-consuming registration of the warranty return too much work?

Is this the new Migros that Migros boss Mario Irminger wants to sell us? In the current edition of the Sonntagszeitung, Migros reports record profits. At the expense of poor pensioners, who are denied a statutory warranty and travel for hours in vain.
