Migros is obviously taking its customers for fools again...

Migros verkauft offenbar seine Kunden mal wieder für dumm...

Dear Migros I apologize in advance for once again coming down hard on you, but the following is simply unacceptable. Apart from that, it is against the law. Migros has strawberries "From the region/Switzerland" on offer up to and including today (25.5.2020), the 500g bowl for Fr. 4.75 instead of Fr. 5.95 (this is exactly what it says in the Migros magazine under "Promotion" from 19.5.-25.5.2020). The strawberry packs in Migros Brunaupark (ZH) all looked really tempting today (unlike the ones from last week, where there were quite a few rotten/moldy berries per pack, and they looked anything but inviting, small shriveled fruits etc.); there was not a single rotten or moldy fruit in today's packs, which is why I wanted to buy a pack. At the fruit rack in Migros Brunaupark, the promotion was labeled "Promotion, strawberries, see packaging for origin, 500g bowl, 20%, 4.75 instead of 5.95". I already had a funny feeling when I saw these super great strawberry packs on the rack today (this is how the fruit packs from the EU usually look and not Swiss fruit...); but the sign on the rack made me even more suspicious and I wondered why Migros Brunaupark advertises the strawberries on the rack as "Origin see packaging", but in the Migros magazine under "Promotion" the strawberries are advertised as "From the region/Switzerland". I then turned the strawberry pack over and read the following on the label at the bottom of the pack (I took a photo, but can't post it here in the forum, so I'll write everything exactly as it says on the label): "Strawberries 500g, 7610632070444, country of origin: Netherlands, class I, L 142-766, verp. KCB nr. 3798, ASF-Holland bv, Lage Brugweg 11a, 5759 PK Helenaveen". So for Migros, strawberries "From the region/Switzerland" = strawberries from the Netherlands (!) I have to say, it really is a great label ("From the region"), what you have there, dear Migros, but to be honest, I'm starting to believe you and now nothing more, this label is just a farce for me; "From the region" is obviously a way for Migros to pass off cheaply produced and qualitatively flawless EU goods as Swiss goods at a massively overpriced price (at least that's what the Migros Brunaupark branch did with these strawberries today; I don't know whether this was also the case with these strawberries in other Migros branches); it's obviously a way for Migros to increase sales... I have actually always been an advocate and supporter of this "Aus der Region" label and was quite prepared to pay a little more for such a "Aus der Region" product (because I wanted to support regional Swiss (!) products and their producers), but today has taught me otherwise. As sorry as I am, in future I will think twice before buying such "Aus der Region" products in Migros again; as it stands, you can no longer assume that the "Aus der Region" label means "from the region/Switzerland" products. This is hugely disappointing! In future, I will probably buy products directly from farmers in my region from their farm stores if I want to support regional products and their producers. At least then I can be sure that the products are really "from the region/Switzerland" (I can visit the farm and ask the farmers about everything if I want to). And to come back to the strawberries: I immediately put the pack of strawberries back on the rack and decided not to buy them. I'm not going to be ripped off and taken for a fool, I'm not going to pay around CHF 5 for half a kilo of strawberries from the Netherlands (nota bene advertised by Migros as "From the region/Switzerland") when I can get half a kilo of strawberries from Spain for around CHF 2 (or did until a few weeks ago and will probably get them again soon) - not to mention the fact that strawberries from the Netherlands would probably also be available for around CHF 2. Is that still possible? That's unfair, if not downright fraudulent. For me, another reason to buy (even more) from the competition. By the way: Aldi and Lidl, for example, sell Swiss strawberries in 500g trays for CHF 4.99, and these are real Swiss strawberries! It says so correctly on the packaging, e.g. Thurgau or similar (I looked it up in the store today)
