Is there a highscore list for this collecting game? Firstly, to assess whether it still makes sense to take part and secondly, it's more fun if you can see where you currently stand.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but a highscore list is not planned for this app. However, the developers like the idea and will take it into account if there is ever a similar app.
Regarding the difficult photography: The recording function is somewhat sensitive. As Istanbul has already written, only testing with different lighting conditions or perhaps a slightly different angle will help.
