Dear Migros
I have a question about the Migros outlet. I like to shop there often. But I notice that there are hardly any Migros products there. The other day I bought (very good!) chocolate in Israeli packaging and Ülker cookies from Turkey. And today "non-Migros" lettuce and yoghurt.
So my question is: why does the Migros outlet hardly sell any Migros products? Are they bought in especially for the outlet?

Migros articles that could not be sold out (in time) in the Migros supermarkets end up in the Migros outlets. Otherwise, the products are bought especially for these stores. They usually come directly from the manufacturer (overproduction) or are leftover or surplus stock from external suppliers.

I shop at the Migros outlet in Alpnach. And I'm very happy with the store and the products. But that's not my point at all.
My question is more of a fundamental one. Why does Migros have these outlet stores if - apart from meat and cheese - there are virtually no Migros products on offer?
There's M-Budget and the in-house Denner for bargain prices and Saviva for the large packs...

Presumably the Migros products are sold off so well in the stores that nothing more can be given to the outlets. Most of the time, it's clothing that hasn't found a buyer even in the special sale that then goes from the Migros stores to the outlets. Unsold Lebensittel promotional packs may be given to social institutions such as food banks or Caritas stores.
But there are NO outlet products sold there! Fresh bread, salad, yoghurt. Plus all kinds of frozen products, pasta, coffee, etc. In other words, all normal goods with a normal shelf life.
Of course, there are also outlet products in between: Those with outdated packaging or meat cuts. And also sales of discontinued products. But the majority are ordinary products...

I am happy to share the feedback regarding the product range in the Migros outlets. Our aim is to have as much of our range as possible from Migros. The outlets are also an official liquidation channel for the Migros community.
In this context, the outlet also sells surplus stock or goods with slight visual defects from third-party suppliers that supply Migros. This means that branded products that are not otherwise available in Migros can end up in the outlet.
In addition, we try to make the range in the Migros Outlet as attractive as possible for our customers by buying in promotions and surplus stock.
